It's not you, it's me.

I'm moving out of the burbs. It was a nice summer, spending time at the secret spot, going the flea market. I just need to get back to my real life.

And so I am. With a real job to boot. And a real apartment in center city with my real boyfriend that i love to death.

Strange how things work out this way. Or maybe it's just strange to me since things haven't worked out in quite some time.

I have two shows coming up, one in October and one in November!!!

Some thoughts...

Here is a (bad) image of a new painting. Here is a display I have in my bedroom. I also have another one that I'll post when I get around to it. I went and saw the Mike Smith show at the ICA and was completely inspired by it and hope to make videos ASAP. Also, for the past few weeks I've been in charge of photographing guns at work and have been called both "Annie Oakley" and a "Mountain Woman." I had never held a gun before this, and while I was alarmed at first, I've come to terms with not being afraid of objects as objects. I painted with Dustin the other day and have some work to show for that as well. Our system is usually 4 surfaces on the walls and then we go at it as we see fit. I think Dustin especially likes to manipulate the situation. It's really good practice in being friends and being painters.

I'm going to New Orleans in a few days and up until then I'm very busy.
I just made this painting and apologize for the image quality. It's pretty gross feeling.

Tonight I followed this hot air balloon on my way home. They always land in Pineville. When I was little my dad and I used to go watch them land. I got so excited to see it, it's on the same level as fireworks for me. I just can't even drive when they're around. So I pulled over the car at an abandoned house and took this picture. On nights like tonight I always keep my eyes to the sky.

I'm going to New Orleans next week for vacation with Giaco. It's going to be amazing.
I've also been getting really good mail lately. I'm going to get back to you when I get back.
